My stay at Farah’s place was excellent. I have to point out the fact that Maylin, the host, went out of her way to make us feel right at home. She walked miles to get us eggs when I asked her. Everytime I asked her for anything, big or small she was always so eager to help! I’ve stayed at many airbnb’s in Havana and I’ve never experienced the level of customer service I received from Maylin. I’m truly greatful for all her help and attention.

Gorgeous, clean home in Vedado. House has large windows, high ceilings and the loveliest porch with the world’s most comfortable rocking chairs. The house is in a residential area, so staying here provides a great opportunity to see local Cuban life up close. There is a market nearby if you wish to purchase fruit and vegetables. About a 10 minute walk to Hotel Nacional and the Malecon. This house is not that close to the city center, but you can walk one block over to Calle 23 to grab a cab. The owner was away in Switzerland so I was not able to meet her; however, Damilca was a wonderful host who was always available if I needed anything. I also insisted on speaking Spanish so that I could practice and she was very patient with my errors. Breakfast every morning consisted of fresh fruit, rolls with butter, fresh juice and coffee. There was also an option to have eggs. I chose the room with the private bath and I’m gad I did as the other two rooms share a bathroom. Water pressure in the shower was OK and it was warm. You have a choice of AC or fan. The window has shutters that can be opened to let in light, but I didn’t use them as one side had a screw loose and I was afraid it would fall off. There is a TV in the living room, but reception was really poor. Great house to rent, especially if you’re traveling as a group. Take time to enjoy the porch. I spent a lot of time there just watching the world go by. My only negative, and here I’m being picky, was the fact that smoking was allowed on the porch. Since I don’t smoke and the other... Since I don’t smoke and the other guests did, I was only able to enjoy the porch when I was there alone. If, like me, you prefer non-smoking environment, this may not be the house for you. If you walk to the the end of Calle 19, there is a lovely restaurant named California Cafe that I found on my last night. Also check out Tamy's Cakes, also on Calle 19, for delicious little tarts....

Very Spacious & Clean Dalia was Amazing, I honestly felt like she was my long lost Aunty who’s been waiting to spoil me. Her hospitality was Spot on, and she was very diligent about arriving On time and having breakfast ready. Her suggestions on what to do during our stay was very much helpful. I enjoyed having my own room in the evening to unwind and cool off from the days adventures.

This was the perfect place to stay!! Went here for my bachelor party and it was the perfect house. Location was great, close to everything and very easy to get cabs. Anabel is wonderful, she made sure we had everything we needed and helped arrange everything, from taxis to reservations. House is super clean with toiletries too! Highly recommended for your trip to Cuba.

Farah's home was wonderful! My best friend and I decided to take a vacation together to celebrate our 30th birthdays, and we could not have been more happy that we chose this place to stay in Vedado. The home was spacious and clean. The bathroom is modern and large, but the best part by far was the beautiful front porch. We loved sitting out there in the morning and in the evening watching the quite neighborhood move by. The host provided two umbrellas which ended up being very useful, as well as a map of the neighborhood with suggested restaurants and sites. One place that wasn't on the list that I would highly recommend is Starbien Restaurante. We had a very nice lunch here one day for 12CUC per person. It has a lovely outdoor seating area, if you can bear the heat, but if not they air conditioning inside. Starbien Restaurante Calle 29 #205 entre B y C Vedado. I would like to note that unfortunately we did have one complication during our stay; we didn't have water for the first two days, but Anabel (the care taker of the house) could not have been more accommodating and helpful. She lives in the neighborhood, and was at our home multiple times a day to bring us water and continually tried to fix the problem. She went out of her way to to make us as comfortable as possible. Farah's mother also showed up to try and help, and reimbursed us some money for your inconvenience, which was unnecessary but very appreciated. Eventually the water was fixed and all was well. The problem ended up being the motor. On another note, Anabel was a fabulous host in Farah's absence. It was a pleasure to get to know her, and she... Read more
